₹1,078 Crore Approved for Gujarat Road Works Under CRIF

Outcome of Gandhinagar Meeting

The Government of India has sanctioned ₹1,078.13 crore from the Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) for road development projects in Gujarat. The decision follows a high‑level meeting held on November 25, 2025 in Gandhinagar between Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, where state and national highway projects were reviewed.

Scope of Works

A total of 41 projects covering 564.57 kilometres will be undertaken under this allocation. The works include widening, strengthening, resurfacing, and structural improvements, aimed at enhancing connectivity and easing transportation across the state.

Widening of State Highways

• ₹636 crore approved for 11 widening projects

• Coverage: 229.20 kilometres

• Districts: Patan, Kutch, Banaskantha, Kheda, Mahisagar, Chhota Udepur, Valsad, Amreli, Jamnagar, and Vadodara

Strengthening and Resurfacing

• ₹408.33 crore sanctioned for 23 projects

• Coverage: 335.37 kilometres

• Districts: Ahmedabad, Kheda, Anand, Aravalli, Mahisagar, Tapi, Navsari, Devbhumi Dwarka, Surendranagar, Amreli, Surat, and Jamnagar

Structural Works

• ₹33.80 crore allocated for seven structural projects

• Districts: Tapi, Surat, and Dang

Strategic Importance

Officials emphasized that the projects will significantly improve logistics and transportation efficiency under the PM Gati Shakti initiative, reducing travel time and dependence on private vehicles. The investment reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening road infrastructure under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ensuring smoother connectivity for commuters and businesses alike.

With approvals in place and preparatory work underway, Gujarat is set to witness accelerated development in its road network, reinforcing its role as a key hub for trade, industry, and tourism.
