Seven Indian restaurants have made it to the extended list of Asia’s Best Restaurants 2025, as revealed by the prestigious ’50 Best’ organization. The top 50 rankings will be disclosed at an awards ceremony in Seoul on March 25, but the organization has already unveiled the rankings for positions 51 to 100. Indian eateries from Mumbai, Delhi, Kasauli, and Bengaluru are among those featured, further cementing India’s culinary prominence on the global stage.
The list includes a mix of well-established names and newcomers, highlighting the diversity and innovation within India’s restaurant scene. The seven Indian restaurants that have secured spots in the extended rankings are:
- The Bombay Canteen, Mumbai (91st rank)
- Dum Pukht, New Delhi (89th rank)
- The Table, Mumbai (88th rank)
- Inja, New Delhi (87th rank)
- Americano, Mumbai (71st rank)
- Farmlore, Bengaluru (68th rank)
- Naar, Kasauli (66th rank)
This year marks a significant achievement for some of these restaurants, with Naar, Farmlore, and Inja making their debut on the list. Naar, located in Kasauli, is an experimental dining experience created by Chef Prateek Sadhu. Situated in the foothills of the Himalayas, it focuses on local cuisine and Himalayan food culture. The restaurant offers a 20-seat intimate setting, blending creativity with regional culinary traditions.
Inja, a premium restaurant in New Delhi, is known for its unique fusion of Indian and Japanese cuisine, offering an innovative take on traditional flavors. Meanwhile, Farmlore in Bengaluru stands out for its farm-driven concept, where guests dine amidst an actual working farm. This unique concept emphasizes the use of locally sourced and seasonal ingredients, making it a standout in Bengaluru’s dining scene.
The other restaurants featured in the list have also garnered recognition over the years. The Bombay Canteen is a beloved spot in Mumbai that celebrates diverse regional Indian cuisine with a modern twist. Americano, also in Mumbai, is a contemporary European bistro known for its focus on seasonal and creative dishes. The Table in Mumbai, which is one of India’s pioneers in the ‘Farm to Table’ philosophy, continues to impress with its globally inspired menu. Dum Pukht in New Delhi specializes in slow-cooked, traditional Indian dishes like biryani and kebabs, earning it a place on the list once again.
These seven restaurants showcase the innovation, creativity, and culinary diversity present in India’s food culture. The highly anticipated announcement of the top 50 list later this month is expected to further highlight the growing influence of Indian cuisine in Asia and the world.
