Actress Kumkum breathes her last at the age of 86.

The yesteryear actress, Kumkum featured in films like CID, Aar Paar, Kohinoor among the 100 others.

On Tuesday, veteran Bollywood actor Kumkum passed away at her residence in Bandra, Mumbai. The 86-year old actress featured in over 100 films and was popular due to being part of songs like “Kabhi Aar Kabhi Paar” and “Mere Mehboob Qayamat Hogi”.

Naved Jafri shared the news of her demise on Twitter and said that the Indian film industry has lost another gem. Jafri lauded the late actress and called her a super artist and a fantastic human being. Kumkum was best known for her roles in successful movies like Mr X in Bombay, Mother India, Kohinoor, Son of India, Ujala, Naya Daur, Shreeman Funtoosh, Ganga Ki Lahren, Ek Sapera EK Lutera, Raja aur Rank, Lalkaar, Aankhen, Geet, and Ek Kuwara Ek Kuwari. Kumkum was also part of the first Bhojpuri film Ganga Maiyya Tohe Piyari Chadhaibo in 1963.

The late actor, Kumkum, was also lauded for her dancing skills:

The veteran actor also appeared in Guru Dutt’s film Aar Paar and was part of some legendary songs like “Kabhi Aar Kabhi Paar”. Kumkum’s first Hindi feature film is believed to be Aar Paar. She also starred in Guru Dutt’s CID, and gained massive popularity in the renowned song “Yeh Hai Bombay Meri Jaan”. The actress was also lauded for her amazing dance moves and she featured in “Madhuban Mein Radhika Nacha Re” song to showcase her outstanding talent. 

Many stars have taken to their social media to send their condolences on Kumkum’s demise, whose last rites took place at Mazgaon cemetery.
