Not more than 24 hours after
getting diagnosed with the novel COVID-19 virus, actor Abhishek
Bachchan revealed
that wife and actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan along with their daughter Aaradhya
Bachchan had
tested positive for Coronavirus on Sunday. Post late Saturday night news of him and
his father, megastar Amitabh Bachchan, testing positive for the virus, tests
were conducted on their close family and staff. AB Jr. also said that his
mother Jaya Bachchan and other family members tested negative for the deadly
disease.

Abhishek shared the latest news on his Twitter in a tweet that read,” Aishwarya and Aaradhya have also tested COVID-19 positive. They will be self quarantining at home. The BMC has been updated of their situation and are doing the needful. The rest of the family including my Mother have tested negative. Thank you all for your wishes and prayers.” Both the father-son duo has been hospitalized in the Nanavati hospital in Vile Parle and Director of Critical Care Services at the hospital, Dr Abdul Samad Ansari, on Sunday morning informed PTI that both the Bachchans are stable.

Meanwhile, India’s coronavirus
numbers are not curbing as over 28,000 new infections were registered in the
country on Sunday, taking the nation’s tally to 849,533 cases. The death toll
climbed to 22,674 as per the data released by the Union Health Ministry. Around
5.3 lakh people have recovered from the fatal virus, and still, nearly 3 lakh
cases in the country are active. The Health Ministry revealed that although the
cases have been surging in the country, the recovery rate too, is on the rise.
The recovery rate of India has improved to 62.93%.
