Amit Shah and Arvind Kejriwal meet to review Delhi’s Coronavirus crisis.

With 11,929 cases in a single day, India’s total Covid-19 tally goes up to 320,922 cases; Amit Shah promises the testing in Delhi will be tripled in six days.

On Sunday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah with Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan, held a review meeting with Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and LG Anil Baijal to discuss the Coronavirus crisis in Delhi. Delhi is the third-worst affected state of India clocking in 38000 positive cases and is projected to register more than 5 lakh cases by the end of July.

Amit Shah assured the AAP chief of centre’s full support and assistance, he also provided 500 railway coaches to the Delhi government citing lack of beds for Covid-19 patients. Amit Shah has also promised to double the testing in the national capital, in a few days and triple the tests in six days.

Shah and Kejriwal met for a second time during the week and the second meeting was attended by Dr Randeep Guleria, Director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, and members of the SDMA (State Disaster Management Authority).

PM Modi meets Amit Shah and other ministers:

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Amit Shah and Dr Harsh Vardhan over the steep rise of Coronavirus infections in the country. They discussed the steps needed to be taken in Delhi, and other states that have shown a sudden rise in the total number of cases in the past week.

India’s Covid-19 tally rises to 320,922:

India reported 11929 cases in the country’s biggest single-day spike of Covid-19 infections, in the last 25 hours. This is a second consecutive day for India, with more than 11,000 cases registered on a single day. The surge in cases took the nation’s coronavirus tally to 320,922 with 9192 causalities as per the Union Health Ministry.  

Globally, over 7.7 million Covid-19 cases have been reported and the death toll stood at over 4.3 lakh.
