Yami started her career through serial:
Yami started her career on the small screen in 2008 with Chand Ke Paar Chalo, after starring in advertisements for a beauty cream.
Before making her Bollywood debut along with Vicky Donor opposite Ayushmann Khurrana in 2012, she also acted in Yeh Pyar Na Hoga Kam (2009–2010) as well as a few South Indian movies.
