BJP Targets Rahul Gandhi Over Tewari’s Dynastic Politics Tweet

Congress leader Manish Tewari’s recent observations about rising public rejection of political entitlement across South and East Asia have sparked a fresh political controversy, with the BJP seizing the opportunity to target Rahul Gandhi. Tewari’s comments on social media platform X highlighted significant political upheavals in neighboring countries, drawing connections to broader regional trends against dynastic governance.

Regional Political Upheavals Highlight Anti-Dynasty Sentiment

In his controversial post, Tewari cited several high-profile political downfalls, including President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s ouster in Sri Lanka in July 2023, Sheikh Hasina’s fall from power in Bangladesh in July 2024, KP Sharma Oli’s political troubles in Nepal in September 2025, and ongoing protests against Ferdinand Marcos Jr in the Philippines. He emphasized that “ENTITLEMENT IS NO LONGER ACCEPTABLE TO GEN X, Y, Z,” pointing to growing resistance against dynastic politics amplified by social media activism.

BJP IT Cell Chief Links Comments to Congress Leadership

The BJP’s IT cell head, Amit Malviya, quickly capitalized on Tewari’s statements, drawing direct parallels to Rahul Gandhi, whom he labeled as the “ultimate Nepo Kid of Indian politics.” Malviya’s response on X suggested internal dissatisfaction within Congress, claiming, “Forget Gen Z, even Congress’s own veterans are fed up with his regressive politics. The revolt is now from within!”

Tewari responded dismissively to the BJP’s interpretation, urging political maturity and emphasizing that his comments addressed broader regional developments with potential national security implications. He stressed the importance of understanding these Asian political trends from the correct perspective rather than reducing them to domestic political point-scoring between Congress and BJP.
