BJP wants a CBI probe into Congress’ ‘phone tapping’ accusation.
The BJP says their morality is clear, the alleged Sanjay Jain’s voice, heard in the audio clips, was deemed as manufactured clip & fiction.
On Friday, Special Operation Group (SOG) of Rajasthan Police registered criminal cases over purported audio clips of some BJP leaders planning to topple the Congress’ government in the state. On Saturday, the BJP has denounced the accusations and sought an investigation by the CBI into the “phone tapping” of the political leaders in the state.
Shekhawat dismissed the accusations:
The opposition party in the state of Rajasthan, however, refrained to entertain the Congress’ allegations. Yesterday, audiotapes of a purported telephonic conversation between a dissident Congress MLA and Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat were released by the ruling party of Rajasthan, Congress. Shekhawat cleared the air by saying neither the voice nor the diction in the audio clips are of his and dismissed the accusations.
Sambit Patra rubbishes the allegations surrounding audio clips:
BJP Spokesperson Sambit Patra was asked to respond to Congress’ claims that the voice heard in the audio was of Sanjay Jain, who is a BJP member. Patra rubbished the allegations and said there was no need to respond to “manufactured clips and fiction”. Have the Congress adopted illegal and unconstitutional methods to save its government in state? Sambit Patra in a news briefing asked.

Addressing the Ashok Gehlot statement which revealed that the Chief Minister and his deputy Sachin Pilot for the past 18 months had not been in talking terms, Patra said,” the reality is that since the Congress came into power, there has been a dual on the street between Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot on who would be the Chief Minister. The sin was theirs, the conspiracy existed within the Congress, but the allegations were against the BJP. They came out with audio clips, which were manufactured, to accuse the BJP of conspiracies.”
Patra then said that the BJP seeks a CBI probe into the matter.
