BMC Election Voter List 2026: How to Verify Your Name

Voting for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections is scheduled for January 15, 2026, with over one crore voters expected to participate. Only registered voters whose names appear on the final electoral roll are eligible to cast their votes, making voter verification crucial before polling day. Results will be announced on January 16, 2026.

Multiple Ways to Check Your Voter Registration

Voters can verify their names through three convenient methods. The Maharashtra State Election Commission portal at mahasecvoterlist.in allows searches using your full name or EPIC number. Alternatively, visit the National Voters’ Service Portal (NSVP) at voters.eci.gov.in and select the “Search your name in voter list” option. The Election Commission’s Voter Helpline App, downloadable from eci.gov.in, provides another accessible option for verification.

Candidate Statistics and Election Details

The 2026 BMC elections feature 1,700 candidates competing for 227 seats, comprising 879 women and 821 men—marking a 25.27% decline from the 2,275 candidates who contested in February 2017. The BMC, India’s largest and richest civic body, plays a crucial role in Mumbai’s governance.

Voters should carry valid photo identification to polling booths, including Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, or passports. Early verification ensures a smooth voting experience. The single-phase polling across 29 Municipal Corporations in Maharashtra underscores the significance of this civic engagement. Ensure your name is registered to participate in shaping Mumbai’s future.
