Bollywood Stars Rally Behind Rajpal Yadav

Rajpal Yadav, a beloved actor known for his comedic brilliance, surrendered at Delhi’s Tihar Jail in connection with a ₹9 crore debt and cheque bounce case. The situation has prompted an outpouring of support from the Bollywood fraternity, with multiple celebrities stepping forward to assist the struggling actor. Kamaal R Khan announced on social media that he is contributing ₹10 lakh and urging the industry to collectively raise ₹5 crore to secure his release, emphasizing that paying back this amount would allow him to walk free immediately.

Industry Shows Compassion

Gurmeet Choudhary and Sonu Sood have also pledged their support, calling it a moment for the entire film fraternity to demonstrate compassion. Sonu Sood offered to include Yadav in his upcoming project with an adjustable signing amount, reframing it as a matter of dignity rather than charity. Both actors emphasized that the industry functions as a family and cannot abandon one of its own during hardship.

The Background

Yadav’s financial troubles stem from a 2010 loan of ₹5 crore taken from Delhi-based Murali Projects Pvt. Ltd. for his directorial debut, Ata Pata Laapata. When the film underperformed at the box office, he struggled to repay the debt, leading to the current legal situation. The collective response from Bollywood demonstrates the industry’s willingness to support one another during difficult times, offering hope that Yadav may soon secure his release.
