China confirms easing tensions and that PLA is taking measures to disengage at LAC.

On Monday, China confirmed that its People Liberation Army (PLA) is taking active measures to make progress for disengaging and easing the tensions in the Galwan Valley in eastern Ladakh. This is the first sign of disengagement of front-line troops from the crucial standoff point along the (LAC) Line of Actual Control with India. The area is the site of a violent clash between the Indian and Chinese armies on June 15, which martyred 20 Indian soldiers.

Zhao Lijian says India and China to jointly de-escalate the border standoff:

Zhao Lijian, when asked about the Chinese troops pulling back from the area, said,” There is progress made on front-line troops taking effective measures to disengage and ease the tensions.” Zhao further added that both the nations’ held commander-level talks on June 30, to reach a mutual consensus. Zhao said,” We hope the Indian side will move towards China and through concrete actions implement the consensus and continue the close communication through military and diplomatic channels to jointly push for the de-escalation on the border region.”

As per an engagement between the Corps Commanders of both the nations, the disengagement of the Chinese troops has started, sources in New Delhi reported.
