De De Pyaar De 2 Box Office Collection Disappoints

The highly anticipated sequel to the 2019 romantic comedy De De Pyaar De has failed to match expectations at the box office. Starring Ajay Devgn and R. Madhavan alongside Rakul Preet Singh, the film opened on Friday with respectable numbers but witnessed a sharp 70% drop on its first Monday. By Day 5, the film accumulated Rs 44 crore, registering a slight recovery of Rs 5 crore on Tuesday according to industry tracker Sacnilk.

Underwhelming Performance Compared to Recent Releases

The collection significantly lags behind Devgn’s recent hits. His earlier 2025 release Raid 2 earned Rs 78.75 crore in the same five-day period, while Drishyam 2 collected Rs 86.49 crore. Even Shaitaan performed better with Rs 67.75 crore. The film also trails its own 2019 original, which collected Rs 50 crore in five days. When compared against other major 2025 releases, the gap widens further—Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force grossed Rs 75 crore, while Thamma earned Rs 78.7 crore.

Occupancy and Regional Performance

On Tuesday, the film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 16.53%, with night shows peaking at 28.91%. Delhi-NCR, with 1,392 shows, led in occupancy at 19.5%, while Mumbai reported 20.5% occupancy across 830 screens. The film’s underwhelming performance comes ahead of intense competition from upcoming releases like 120 Bahadur, Mastii 4, and Tere Ishq Mein, making it challenging for the film to recover and maintain its theatrical presence.
