Disha Patani’s Father Targeted in Bareilly House Shooting

Unknown assailants fired multiple shots at Bollywood actor Disha Patani’s family residence in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, on Friday night, with police confirming that the target was her father, retired police officer Jagdish Patani, rather than the actress herself. The Goldy Brar gang has claimed responsibility for the attack, which occurred around 4:30 AM with several rounds fired, including aerial shots.

Police Investigation Reveals Motive Behind Attack

According to the FIR lodged with Bareilly Police, Jagdish Patani reported that around 3:30 AM, his pet dogs alerted him to two men on a motorcycle near his balcony. When he questioned their presence, one assailant responded “Kill him” before opening fire. Patani managed to save himself by taking cover behind a balcony pillar. The shooting appears to be linked to social media remarks made by Patani’s daughter Khushboo that allegedly disrespected Hindu saints Premanand Maharaj and Anidruddhacharya Maharaj.

Family Defends Controversial Social Media Posts

A day after the incident, Jagdish Patani broke his silence to defend his daughter’s comments, stating they were misinterpreted and wrongly connected to spiritual leader Premanand Ji Maharaj. An online message claiming responsibility for the attack threatened further action if perceived insults against religious figures continued. Police have launched a comprehensive investigation, reviewing CCTV footage from the house and surrounding roads while deploying additional security around the family. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident, though authorities are treating it as a serious attempt on Jagdish Patani’s life.
