Television producer Ektaa Kapoor has addressed the controversy surrounding her viral social media post about Ozempic, firmly denying that it was directed at actor Ram Kapoor. Speaking at the India Today Conclave Mumbai 2025, Kapoor clarified that her video was personal and focused on body image and self-confidence issues, not targeting any individual.

Context Behind the Viral Post

Kapoor explained that her post was strategically timed one week before launching the “Bade Achhe Lagte Hain” promo, which addressed themes of body shaming, self-doubt, and self-assurance. “The promo was about body shaming, self-doubt, and self-assurance. Somehow, people took my post and spun it into something completely unrelated,” she stated.

The confusion arose from her original video where she pondered weight loss options, ending with “Hum bade hi acche lagte hain” (We look good just the way we are). Many interpreted this as a reference to the show “Bade Achhe Lagte Hain,” starring Ram Kapoor.

Setting the Record Straight

“I don’t know where Ram Kapoor came into this. He’s not a woman, not on TV right now, and he’s actually lost a lot of weight,” Kapoor emphasized. She compared the misinterpretation to discussing her hair and someone assuming she called them bald.

The controversy escalated when Ram Kapoor’s wife, Gautami Kapoor, responded with her own social media post, suggesting gym workouts over pharmaceutical interventions. However, Ektaa’s clarification demonstrates how social media posts can be misinterpreted, highlighting the importance of understanding context before drawing conclusions about celebrity statements.
