Fire Breaks Out at Odisha Cinema During Prabhas’ The Raja Saab Release

Chaos erupted at an Odisha cinema hall when enthusiastic Prabhas fans brought religious celebrations inside the theatre during The Raja Saab’s January 9 release. The excitement turned dangerous as devotees performed aarti and lit lamps near the screen during the actor’s iconic entry scene, sparking an unexpected fire that sent audiences into panic.

Celebratory Rituals Turn Chaotic

The incident unfolded as fans gathered to celebrate the fantasy thriller’s long-awaited release. Videos circulating on social media captured the frenzy, with audiences throwing confetti during multiple key moments including song sequences and action scenes. However, the celebration crossed safety boundaries when attendees brought aarti materials and began bursting firecrackers inside the enclosed space. The flames erupted right in front of the screen, prompting desperate spectators to attempt extinguishing the fire while others rushed toward exits.

No Casualties Despite Emergency

Fortunately, the situation was contained without serious consequences. News18 Odisha shared footage of the incident, confirming that no injuries or casualties were reported despite the alarming situation and visible panic among audiences. Emergency protocols appeared effective in managing the evacuation.

The Raja Saab Film Updates

Following its release, The Raja Saab earned attention beyond the fire incident. The fantasy comedy, directed by A. The production team subsequently announced the addition of new sequences featuring Prabhas in an older look.

Despite initial enthusiasm from fans, the film received mixed critical reviews, with critics suggesting it lacked depth compared to similar comedy-horror genre films in Indian cinema.
