This is because Gangubai Kathiawadi has a budget of 68.53 crores*, while Ram Leela has a budget of 82 crores. However, the comparisons are unavoidable, given that Sanjay Leela Bhansali directs both films.
What would be absorbing to see is how the two films compare in terms of life scores. While it’s almost sure that Sanjay Leela Bhansali will score another century with the Alia Bhatt-starrer, the question now is how big. Gangubai kathiawadi should eventually surpass Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s Ram Leela’s lifetime score of 110 crores. Bajirao Mastani 188 crores, the subsequent best in line, is out of the running.
