Gorakhpur teacher allegedly posts “Pro-Pak” sentences during an online class, gets suspended.

While trying to explain nouns to students of 4th grade during an online class, Shadab Khanam gets suspension over alleged ” pro-pak ” remarks.

On Friday, a private school in Gorakhpur had to suspend their English teacher named Shadab Khanam who allegedly made ” positive references for Pakistan ‘ during an online grammar class of fourth standard students.Shadab Khanam, in her 30s, was also issued a show-cause notice by the school authorities, asking her to respond within a week. The English teacher was trying to explain nouns when she allegedly wrote ” pro-pak ” sentences to a WhatsApp group. 

Shadab Khanam defended herself by suggesting that she unknowingly copied those sentences from the internet and pasted it on the group without checking it. Her husband, Mohammad Hasim, claimed her wife’s innocence, he said,” It was a human error. After realizing her mistake, she immediately posted an apology on WhatsApp.” Mohammad, who works for a private firm in Gorakhpur, said,” Shadab is not familiar with the internet and Friday was the first day of the online class. To explain the nouns, she picked some sentences from the internet as examples but did not read them thoroughly and posted them on the WhatsApp group.” 

Hasim also said Shadab has been asked not to work by some school authorities but has not yet received the suspension and nor has she filed a reply to the show-cause notice sent by the school.

However, school manager G.P. Singh said, “Shadab has been suspended and a show-cause notice has been issued to her. I have informed the matter to District Inspector of Schools (DIOS), basic Shiksha Adhikari and also Joint director of education in Gorakhpur and ordered an inquiry against her.” Singh was given a full report by the authorities regarding the steps taken against Shadab for the alleged ” pro-pak ” sentences.
