In a recent announcement, the Gujarat government revealed its substantial recruitment efforts between 2014 and 2023, highlighting the addition of 11,000 officials during this period.
Government spokesperson and senior cabinet minister Rushikesh Patel emphasized that over 1.67 lakh officials were hired, surpassing the planned target of 1.56 lakh over the past decade.

Patel further stated that the government is actively developing a recruitment calendar for the upcoming 10-year period spanning from 2024 to 2033.

The General Administration Department (GAD) has proposed filling over 1.30 lakh government vacancies during this timeframe, indicating a continued commitment to bolstering the workforce.

Despite challenges, Gujarat boasts a remarkably low unemployment rate of 1.7%, significantly lower than the national average of 3.2%.
