Bhupendra Patel-Led Administration Takes Strong Action
Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi revealed in the Assembly that the Gujarat government, under Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, has undertaken the demolition of 108 mazars in the state as part of an ongoing anti-encroachment campaign.
Sanghavi emphasized that the drive would persist against any encroachment deemed to be part of a conspiracy.
Addressing Assembly During Budgetary Discussions
During discussions on the budgetary demands of the Home and Transport departments, Sanghavi referenced a previous speech by BJP MLA Amit Shah regarding the relocation of idols from a Jain derasar at Jamalpur in Ahmedabad during the Congress regime.

Sanghavi highlighted the proactive stance of the current government in safeguarding temples and devsthan from potential encroachments.
Assertive Action Against Encroachments
Sanghavi underscored the comprehensive nature of the anti-encroachment efforts, citing the demolition of 108 mazars across the state.
He commended the government’s determination to preserve state properties and revealed that encroachments around significant landmarks like Somnath have been successfully removed.
Sanghavi also praised the readiness of the administration to tackle encroachments, describing it as a vigilant “bulldozer” prepared to address any encroachment linked to a larger conspiracy.
Redevelopment Initiatives
Sanghavi highlighted the restoration of the historic Uparkot fort in Junagadh, a project undertaken at a cost of Rs 74 crore and inaugurated by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in September last year.
He pointed out that the government’s actions are not limited to a specific area, with the anti-encroachment drive extending from Dwarka to Porbandar, Ahmedabad, Surat, Pavagadh, Gir Somnath, and Jamnagar.
