Gujarat launches Digital RERA Tribunal Portal to facilitate real estate appeals

Gandhinagar, 15 February 2025, RERA: The Central Government passed The Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 to regulate and boost the real estate sector.

The initiative aligns with the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, which aims to protect homebuyers and ensure transparency in the real estate sector.

Digital Transformation for RERA Tribunal

Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the great.gujarat.gov.in portal in Gandhinagar, in the presence of Retired Chief Justice Shri R.M. Chhaya, Chairman of the RERA Tribunal. The portal is designed to facilitate online appeal filing, digital payments, and real-time case updates, eliminating the need for in-person visits.

This initiative reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of digital governance by offering 17 key services online, ensuring transparency, efficiency, and accessibility for real estate stakeholders.

Key Features of the RERA Tribunal Portal

The newly launched platform provides the following digital services:

  1. Online Appeal Filing & Registration – Stakeholders can submit appeals digitally.
  2. Digital Fee Payments – Secure online payment for tribunal fees.
  3. Case Tracking & Queries – Review appeal status and resolve queries online.
  4. Limitation & Delay Condonation Applications – Tools to calculate legal deadlines.
  5. Hearing Scheduling & Notifications – Automated updates via SMS and email.
  6. Daily Cause List & Case Updates – Access real-time case listings.
  7. Online Caveat & Interim Applications – Seamless legal filings.
  8. Judgment & Order Access – Digital availability of rulings.

Enhanced Accessibility & Transparency

With services available in English and Gujarati, the portal ensures a user-friendly experience for all stakeholders in the real estate sector. It also provides real-time alerts for hearings, judgments, and case progress, making legal proceedings more efficient and transparent.

A Landmark Initiative in Digital Governance

During the launch, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel expressed confidence that the digital platform would streamline real estate dispute resolution across Gujarat. The event was attended by notable dignitaries, including RERA officials, legal experts, and government representatives.
