Special representative talks are also expected to
take place in another fortnight by Ajit Doval and Wang Yi.
The world is aware of the India-China
standoff that has
made headlines in the recent past. Every day a new report about the happenings
at the LAC comes out regarding the current situation at
LAC. Recent reports claim that India’s top defence security establishment has planned to keep a hawk-eye on China for any
signs that go against the guidelines of phase-wise disengagement and
de-escalation that are collectively agreed on June 30, by the Indian and
Chinese military commanders. The said process was the result of discussions
between NSA Ajit Doval and Wangi Yi, the Chinese Foreign Minister on the 5th of July.
Important indications for India:
Top officials of the government have reportedly said that if the dirt-track road along the Galwan Valley that the Chinese built up the way to the LAC is found to be “black-topped” by asphalt in the coming days or weeks and if the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) makes any provisions for shelter for the winter or stocks up other things, all these things would be considered as indications that the Chinese army intends to settle in instead of disengaging.
Indian army prevented to patrol
in Depsang area:
On June 30, both the sides
arrived at an agreement during a meeting held at the military commanders. As
per the sources, The Chinese side negotiated in clearing out areas covered by
PP14, PP15, and PP17A, from where five structures at least have been removed.
In the Depsang area, the Indian army has been prevented from areas
of patrolling. The Chinese stop Indian foot patrols and have been built a road
way up to the LAC.
It is made a part of the drill of the Indian side to closely monitor any actions by the Chinese side and they will also monitor the Chinese build up to the way to LAC. It is said that Ajit Doval and Wangi Yi would have another round of special representative talks which would probably be held in a fortnight.
