In a video-conference PM Modi took stock of the COVID-19 situation in ten states; the Death toll due to Coronavirus rose to 45,257 and the recovery rate improves to 69.80 percent.

In the 24 hours ending 9 am Tuesday, India recorded 53,601 new COVID-19 infections, which took the nation’s tally to 22,68,676. India registered fresh 871 deaths, which has risen the death toll in the country to 45,257. For almost two weeks now, Coronavirus cases in the nation have been above the 50,000 mark. The latest data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Affairs revealed that 15,83,490 patients recovered from the fatal virus and the total number of active Coronavirus cases in the country stood at 639,929. The recovery rate of India improved to 69.80 percent, with less than 2 percent causalities. 

PM Modi gauged Coronavirus situation in ten states:

Due to the rising Coronavirus cases in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a video-conference with Chief Ministers of 10 states. PM Modi took stock of the COVID-19 situation including Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, West Bengal, Punjab, Maharashtra, Bihar, Telangana, Gujarat, and Uttar Pradesh.

Lyricist Rahat Indori testes Coronavirus positive:

Renowned lyricist and Urdu poet Rahat Indori has tested COVID-19 positive. The legendary poet took to his Twitter to share the news of him testing positive for the novel COVID-19 virus. Indori stated that he was experiencing symptoms, went for a test, and got the confirmation of contracting the virus. He has been admitted to Aurobindo hospital. 

Global Coronavirus tally breaches the 20 Million mark:

Global Coronavirus cases have breached the 20-million mark as the infections on Tuesday rose to 20,011,186, as per John Hopkins’ tally. 210 countries and territories have reported cases of the novel COVID-19 virus. The virus first originated in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. The global death toll has risen to over 732,000.
