The Sports

positive for Coronavirus. Singh was declared asymptomatic and is the sixth
national player to get infected with the fatal infection.
SAI says the doctors do proper
care and treatment at the National Camp:
Indian Hockey team’s national camp is due to start on August 20 at the SAI centre, and the 25-year-old from Jalandhar is being treated along with the five other players by medical experts and doctors in Bengaluru. In a statement, SAI said,” Mandeep Singh, a member of the Indian Men’s Hockey team, who was given the COVID test (RT PCR) along with 20 other players at the National Camp at SAI’s National Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, has tested Coronavirus positive, but is asymptomatic. He is being administered treatment by doctors, along with the other five players who have tested positive.”
Six Indian Hockey team players
infected of the coronavirus:
After a month-long break,
players returned to the SAI Centre and got tested positive of being infected
with the novel COVID-19 virus. Along with Indian captain, Mandeep Singh was
defender Surendra Kumar, Jaskaran Singh, goalkeeper Krishan
Bahadur Pathak, and
drag-flicker Varun Kumar, who tested positive. They have been isolated in the
National Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru and as per the SAI doctors, all the
players are doing well and were showing only “mild symptoms”. In March, the
Hockey players were at the Centre, when the nationwide lockdown was announced
to contain the spread of the coronavirus. The players were stranded at the
Centre for more than two months (till June) and were transported to their
respective homes. Following a month’s break, the players returned in Bengaluru
and were placed in mandatory quarantine before the resumption of training at
the centre.
