Israeli army hammers Palestine’s West Bank with drone strikes

The Israeli military has launched a huge military operation on the Jenin camp in the north of the occupied Palestine’s West Bank.

It began with multiple air strikes. Videos shared on social media showed smoke rising from a residential building.

Palestine’s West Bank attacked by the Israeli army:

The Palestinian Health Ministry stated at least three Palestinians were murdered and around 20 others wounded in the ongoing raid. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said they were hitting “terrorist infrastructure in the Jenin area”.

“We will not stand idle while terrorists continue to harm civilians using Jenin Camp as a hideout,” they stated, continuing that the camp was a “terrorist stronghold”.

The Jenin Battalion, an army umbrella with armed forces from Palestinian groups Fatah, Hamas and Islamic Jihad, said: “We will fight the occupation forces until the last breath and bullet, and we work together and unified from all factions and military formations.”

Many armed, masked Palestinians were sent to the camp’s alleys. Ahmed Zaki, a camp local, told the BBC that “columns of Israeli army vehicles penetrated the outskirts of the camp from several streets”.

Palestinian ambulance Khaled Alahmad stated: “What is going on in the refugee camp is a real war.” “There were strikes from the sky targeting the camp; every time we drive in around five to seven ambulances, we come back full with injured people,” he told the press.

Last month, the Israeli army killed at least six Palestinians during an invasion of the Jenin camp, the first time in years that it has used attack choppers in the West Bank. Seven Israeli troops and border police officials were injured in that attack.
