You heard it right it’s an Oscar for RRR; India got its second Oscar, thanks to the RRR song Natu Natu. The song became very popular soon after its release in March 2022. 

The Oscar for Best Original Song to RRR’s “Naatu Naatu” at the 95th Academy Awards. MM Keeravani composed the song; the lyrics are by Chandrabose, and the vocals are by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava.

After the film’s OTT release, it gained a global audience, and also the song has since got a lot of love from international audiences as well. 

During his acceptance speech, Keeravani sang a self-composed melody in honour of Rajamouli and the entire nation of India.

Naatu Naatu won the same category at the Golden Globes earlier this year. Natu Natu has also won Best Song at the Critics’ Choice Awards and also the Hollywood Critics Association.

The song is up against Loud cheers from Tell It Like a Woman (Diane Warren), Lift Me Up by Black Panther Wakanda Forever (Tems, Rihanna, Ryan Coogler, Hold My Hand from Top Gun Maverick (Lady Gaga and BloodPop), and Ludwig Goransson), as well as This Is a Life from Everything Everywhere All at Once (Ryan Lott, David Byrne as well as Mitski).

Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava also performed the song on the Oscars stage. On the other hand, Ram Charan and Jr NTR did not appear on stage. 

The performance, which got a standing ovation at the ceremony, was introduced by Deepika Padukone.
