The IPL fever grabbed the whole cricketing world slowly but steadily. Just seven days left for IPL 2020, former cricketers and experts have begun to join the broadcasting team in making their way to the UAE.
Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen was the new flyer to be part of IPL 2020 for Dubai.
Before leaving for Dubai, the first thing Pietersen did was predict the winner of this year’s IPL. “Who is it who wins? I hope Delhi,’ Pietersen wrote on his Instagram handle.
In the now-concluded T20I series between England and Australia Pietersen recently commented. Now, the former English batsman has left Southampton’s coasts, and he’s heading for Dubai.
“From a UK Bubble to a Dubai Bubble …! I love cricketing back and as always really excited about working on the IPL, “added Pietersen
Pietersen had been representing Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Daredevils and Rising Pune SuperGiants in the IPL during his playing days.
The Shreyas Iyer-led Delhi Capitals, along with Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab, are one of three sides in the IPL that have yet to win the tournament. But the Capitals are the only side that has never even reached the IPL finals.
They will be hoping for a change of fortunes with the inclusion of the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ajinkya Rahane.
They, in the presence of Rishabh Pant, Shikhar Dhawan, Kagiso Rabada, Prithvi Shaw, and captain Iyer, will improve their already powerful squad.
Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians will lock horns on September 19 in the opening match of IPL 2020. Dubai will host 24 games, Abu Dhabi will host 20 games, and Sharjah will host 12 games.
The Delhi Capitals begin their campaign on September 20 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai in the 13th edition of the IPL against Kings XI Punjab.
The IPL 2020 will be played around three venues in the UAE from September 19-November 10 — Duba, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah.
