Kota police rescue two businessmen, arrest kidnappers in ransom case

Gujarat-based businesspeople rescued from kidnappers’ detention in Kota; 2 arrested.

Rescue Operation Near Petrol Pump

In a dramatic rescue, Kota police freed two Surat-based businessmen who had been abducted at gunpoint and held captive by a gang of five. The victims, Jayesh Dattani and Paddaya Himmat Bhai, were rescued from an area near Bhadana Petrol Pump in Kota city following a joint operation by the District Special Team (DST) and Railway Colony Police.

The police arrested Mohammed Juned (30) and Nehal Ahmed (26), both residents of Amaravati, Maharashtra, during the operation. Officers also seized two pistols and a live cartridge from their possession, Superintendent of Police (SP) Tejeshwani Gautam confirmed.

Abduction in Maharashtra

According to the police, the businessmen had been living in Malkapur, Maharashtra, for the last two years while working with a Surat-based company. On September 18, a five-member gang stormed their temporary residence, physically assaulted them, tied their hands and feet, and abducted them in an SUV.

The victims were taken to a farmhouse near Amravati, where they were allegedly forced into explicit acts with a female gang member. The acts were filmed, and the businessmen were coerced into calling a Surat associate to demand ₹20 lakh ransom.

Cross-State Journey Under Threat

After making the ransom call, three kidnappers left to collect the money. Meanwhile, Juned and Nehal transported the businessmen across Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh in a luxury car at gunpoint. Their plan was to move toward Delhi via Sawaimadhopur, but police intercepted them in Kota before they could leave Rajasthan.

Swift Police Action

The arrests were made following a tip-off, with coordinated efforts between multiple police teams. Authorities are now searching for the remaining three gang members involved in the abduction.

SP Gautam praised the swift action of the teams and assured that further investigations are underway to uncover the full extent of the gang’s operations.
