Over 6.5 lakh recoveries in the country, but active cases also keep rising with the total climbing to 358,692.

India on Saturday, recorded another biggest single-day rise in the total number of COVID-19 infections with new 34,884 cases in the country. This spike took the nation’s COVID-19 tally to 10,38,716 including a death toll of 26,273, as per the data released by the Health and Family Welfare Ministry. For a third consecutive day, cases in India have breached the 30,000-mark.

More than 6.5 lakh patients have been cured and discharged with the total number of active cases rising to 358,692. India’s recovery rate now stands at 62.94 percent.

Kolkata airport extends the ban of flight operations:

The Kolkata airport extended its ban till July 31, on flights to and from select destinations on Friday, citing a fresh surge in Coronavirus cases in the below-mentioned cities. No passenger flights will operate to Kolkata from Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Ahmedabad, and Chennai until the end of July.

Fadnavis informs PM Modi of the COVID-19 ground reality in Maharashtra:

Maharashtra is still the worst affected Indian state, with total infections over 2.9 lakh. Leader of the opposition in the state, former CM, Devendra Fadnavis, said to the media that he had briefed PM Modi about the ground reality of COVID-19 situation in the state. Fadnavis highlighted the loopholes and failures of the Uddhav Thackeray-led government. Fadnavis also met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and discussed the grim situation of the state.

Global Coronavirus tally zoomed past 14.1 million-mark, as more than 1 million cases were recorded worldwide in the past 100 hours. The global death toll soared over 603,000 deaths.
