In a nearly half-minute video shared online, an Ola S1 Pro was see catching fire.

An Ola S1 Pro caught fire while parked on the side of the road. The incident was captured on video also share on social media last week in Pune. Ola Electric acknowledged that it was aware of the incident and looked into it. The company also promised to take appropriate action once the investigation was complete in the coming days. Last year, the Ola S1 Pro was introduced as the company’s first electric scooter. It debuted alongside the regular Ola S1, though production of the vanilla model was recently halted.

The over-half-minute video, post by YouTube channel ElectricBikeWale and later share on social media, show an Ola S1 Pro in Midnight Blue electric scooter parked on the roadside, emitting smoke before bursting into being engulf in flames.

The precise cause of the problem has yet to be determine. However, Ola Electric stated in a press release that it had contacted the affected user.

“We are aware of a happening in Pune involving one of our scooters and are investigating the root cause. We will furnish further updates in the coming days.” “We’re in constant contact with the customer, who is completely safe,” said the Bengaluru-based company.

“Vehicle safety is paramount at Ola, and we are committee to the highest quality standards in our products,” the company stated.

Furthermore, Ola Electric Co-Founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal shared the same statement on Twitter and promised a fix.

Customers who were considering purchasing the Ola S1 Pro were concerned about the possibility of it catching fire. According to tweets posted after the incident, some have already canceled their orders.

The Ola S1 Pro isn’t the only electric scooter that’s spark interest and made headlines in India. Last year, the ePluto by Hyderabad-base Pure EV was seen bursting into flames in two separate incidents capture on video and share online.
