Participation of Transgender women is Ban in Miss Italy pageant

Transgender contestants have been banned from competing in the Miss Italy competition.

Miss Italy sponsor Patrizia Mirigliani stated that participants must be “women from birth” and that the competition will not join the “glittery bandwagon of trans activism.”

The announcement comes just a few weeks after Rikkie Valerie Kolle became the first transgender woman to be crowned Miss Netherlands.

“Recently, beauty pageants have been attempting to make headlines by employing techniques that I believe are somewhat ludicrous. On the other hand, Miss Italia will not jump on the glittery bandwagon of trans activism,” Patrizia Mirigliani, Miss Italy, remarked in an interview with Radio Cusano.

“Since its inception, this competition has foreseen in its regulations the clarification that one must be a woman from birth.” Probably because it was anticipated even back then that beauty could change, women could change, or men could become ladies,” Patrizia remarked.

She said ladies with tattoos, piercings, and extensions were welcome to compete in Miss Italy, but that ‘excesses’ were not.

On the other hand, Patrizia stated that she was glad for the Dutch contest to include them.

Rikkie Valerie Kolle stated in an interview after becoming Miss Netherlands that she experienced a lot of hate after her triumph. “I thought the Netherlands was accepting…but the hate comments show the other side of our society.” “I hope that serves as a wake-up call,” she said.
