Prohibitory Orders Close 7 South Gujarat Beaches Until June 7

Gujarat Beaches: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast strong surface winds caused by a steep pressure gradient along the north and south Gujarat coasts.

Therefore, the district collectors of Valsad, Navsari, and Surat have issued prohibitory orders closing seven beaches in South Gujarat to the public until June 7.

Beaches Affected in the State:

The beaches temporarily closed are:

  • Surat: Dumas and Suvali
  • Navsari: Ubharat and Dandi
  • Valsad: Tithal, Umargam, and Nargol

Security has been tightened at the affected beaches. Valsad District Collector Ayush Oak has confirmed the deployment of police staff to ensure compliance with the orders and public safety.

Gujarat Beaches Fishermen and Coastal Villages Alerted:

An alert has been issued in approximately 90 villages in the coastal area of Valsad. Fishermen have been alerted not to enter the sea during this period to prevent accidents or emergencies.

These measures are precautionary to ensure public safety in light of the adverse weather conditions forecasted by the IMD. The authorities monitor the situation closely and take necessary steps to mitigate risks.
