Music Producer Rao Inderjeet Singh Pledges ₹1.11 Crore Aid to Rajpal Yadav

Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav recently surrendered to Tihar Jail following a ₹9 crore debt and cheque bounce case dating back to 2010. The financial crisis stemmed from a loan taken to finance his directorial debut, “Ata Pata Laapata,” which underperformed at the box office. After years of legal proceedings, Rajpal Yadav was convicted under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. Despite temporary relief from the Delhi High Court in June 2024, he was ordered to surrender in February 2025 after failing to repay the mounting dues.

Support Pours In from Industry Leaders

Following the actor’s emotional appeal, prominent figures stepped forward to assist. Actor Sonu Sood offered a film role with a signing amount, while music producer Rao Inderjeet Singh pledged substantial legal aid. On Instagram, Inderjeet announced ₹1.11 crore support on behalf of Gem Tunes, his music label founded in 2006. He urged the public to contribute and guaranteed personal deposit of remaining funds by February 14 to secure Rajpal Yadav’s release by Maha Shivratri.
