Rashmika Reveals Sikandar Script Changed Significantly During Production

Rashmika Mandanna has shed light on why Salman Khan’s film ‘Sikandar’ deviated from its original vision. The actress revealed that the script underwent significant changes during the filming process, a common occurrence in the movie industry. In an interview with Telugu journalist Prerna, Rashmika explained the differences between what she heard during narration and what ultimately appeared on screen.

Script Evolution During Production

The Pushpa actress clarified that such modifications happen naturally throughout filmmaking. She stated, “When you listen to something, it is one story that you have listened to… But over the making of the film, things change according to the performances, according to the edits, according to the time of the release.” Rashmika emphasized that these adjustments are a standard part of cinema production, not unusual circumstances.

Box Office Disappointment Despite Changes

Directed by AR Murugadoss, Sikandar faced disappointing box office numbers. The film earned over Rs 185 crore worldwide against its reported budget of Rs 200 crore, leaving fans disappointed. The chemistry between Rashmika and Salman Khan was heavily criticized on social media, with netizens suggesting no script changes could have salvaged the project.

Despite the film’s underperformance, Salman Khan expressed no regrets during an appearance on Bigg Boss 19, stating that the plot was compelling. The movie, released on March 30, 2025, also featured Sathyaraj, Kajal Aggarwal, Prateik Babbar, and Sharman Joshi in supporting roles. Rashmika’s explanation has sparked discussions about creative decisions and their impact on final film outcomes.
