Rohit Shetty Cancels Work Plans After House Firing Incident

Bollywood director Rohit Shetty has cancelled all his professional commitments for the next 48 hours following a shocking firing incident near his Juhu residence on January 31. The filmmaker, known for the Singham franchise, is actively cooperating with Mumbai Police in their investigation. Sources indicate he has also requested close associates, including actor Ajay Devgn, to refrain from visiting him at home during this period.

Security Measures and Police Investigation

Shetty’s residence is now under heightened surveillance by Mumbai Police after four gunshots were fired nearby. The filmmaker has been providing statements to authorities and is attending to concerned colleagues and friends solely through phone calls and messages. This precautionary approach reflects the seriousness of the threat and his commitment to assisting the investigation.

Gangster’s Warning to Bollywood

Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has claimed responsibility for the incident through associates Shubham Lonkar, Arju Bishnoi, and Hari “Boxer” Hasan Sambhu. The gang issued a warning to “the entire Bollywood,” claiming Shetty ignored previous warnings not to interfere in their activities. Disturbingly, they characterized the firing as a “small trailer,” suggesting potential future threats if their demands are not met.

Rohit Shetty joins a growing list of Bollywood celebrities targeted by Bishnoi’s gang, including Salman Khan, Kapil Sharma, and rapper Badshah. His latest directorial venture, Singham Again (2024), starring Ajay Devgn and Deepika Padukone, grossed approximately Rs 400 crore worldwide against a budget of Rs 350 crore.
