It has come to light that ganja has been recovered from Sabarmati Jail. A large amount of marijuana was found during the raid at the jail. 

Cannabis has been seized from Akram Abdul Aziz Sheikh. About 14 packets of ganja have been found, known to weigh 100 grams.

Sabarmati Jail prisoners in Surat started vandalizing the jail:

Police officials have called a raid in Surat’s Lajpore Jail. The police officers conducted a search operation against the illegal activities going on in the jail. Mobile phones, ganja and charas pads were recovered from Lajpore Jail. 

The inmates started vandalizing the jail after the police started the investigation. In some barracks, the prisoners broke tube lights and threw utensils. After that, the police called more force and took action till 5 am.

Raids have been conducted in 17 major jails across the state:

If sources are to be believed, jailers gave inmates mobile phones. Prisoners used to charge the prisoners. Also, mobile phones have been found in jails throughout Gujarat during jail raids. 

As many as 26 mobile phones have been found in the state. Raids have been conducted in 17 major jails across the state. Meanwhile, shocking details are emerging.

A large number of police convoys reached the jails:

After the meeting of Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi at the DGP office, raids have been conducted in jails across the state. Officers, including the district police chief, joined it. 

The action was taken by the Ministry of Home Affairs in jails, including Rajkot, Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Mehsana, Junagadh, Jamnagar, and Porbandar. 

In this operation, a large number of police convoys, along with senior police officials, reached the jail and raids were carried out.

More than 1700 policemen joined the investigation:

After the instructions given in this important meeting, police squads of the respective districts were prepared under the leadership of the district police chief and surprise checking with body-worn cameras was started by these Gujarat police squads in all the jails across the state. 

Around 1700 police officers carried out this surprise checking operation in 17 jails of the state.
