Farhan Makes History, Hits Bumrah for First T20I Sixes

In a historic moment during the Asia Cup Group A clash in Dubai, Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan became the first batter from his country to hit Jasprit Bumrah for a six in T20 International cricket. The milestone came during Pakistan’s innings on Sunday, ending Bumrah’s remarkable 92-delivery streak against Pakistani batsmen without conceding a boundary over the ropes.

Record-Breaking Moment in Fourth Over

The breakthrough occurred in the fourth over when Farhan faced a good-length delivery angled in from India’s premier fast bowler. Holding his base firmly, the Pakistan opener launched the ball over long-on, sending it soaring into the crowd and sparking wild celebrations among spectators.

Farhan wasn’t finished there. In the sixth over, he pulled a short-of-length 133 kph delivery upwards and cleared the boundary once again, cementing his place in cricket history. This double strike made him only the sixth batsman overall to hit multiple sixes off Bumrah in T20I cricket, with no player having previously managed more than two against India’s death-overs specialist.

Early Drama Sets the Stage

The match had begun dramatically with Hardik Pandya making an immediate impact for India. After starting with a wide delivery, Pandya dismissed opener Saim Ayub with his very first legitimate ball, drawing him into a loose drive that went straight to Bumrah at point.

Despite Pakistan losing early wickets, Farhan’s counterattack provided a memorable highlight, achieving what 92 previous deliveries from Bumrah to Pakistani batsmen had failed to produce – a six over the boundary rope.
