Samay Raina’s ‘India’s Got Latent’ Resurfaces on YouTube After Controversy, Fans Demand New Episodes

After months of silence following a major controversy, popular comedian Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent has quietly returned to YouTube — albeit on a different channel. The unexpected reappearance of the show’s clips has sparked a wave of excitement among fans, who are now clamouring for fresh episodes.

Raina’s India’s Got Latent, a comedic talent show that blended absurdity, humour, and satire, had quickly become a fan favourite on YouTube before it was taken down in February 2025. The show came under heavy fire after a controversial comment made by guest podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia during an episode. The remark, directed at a contestant and involving their parents, was widely deemed insensitive and inappropriate. The backlash was swift, leading to legal action and multiple FIRs against Allahbadia, Samay Raina, and other participants including Apoorva Mukhija and Ashish Chanchlani.

In response to the outrage, Raina issued a heartfelt apology and removed all India’s Got Latent episodes from his official YouTube channel. “Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle,” Raina had written in a post. “My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time.”

Four months later, the show has made an unexpected return — this time not on Raina’s main channel, but on a newly active YouTube page called India’s Got Latent Clips. Fans quickly noticed that the page, previously private, had gone public and now hosts over 500 videos. The channel, with nearly 493,000 subscribers, features a mix of publicly available and members-only content, offering a curated archive of past episodes, contestant segments, and behind-the-scenes moments.

The resurfacing has sparked speculation across social media about whether new episodes might be on the way. Fans flooded the comment sections of the videos, expressing their joy and asking for updates. “Bring the show back,” wrote one user. Another commented, “One of the best series of the decade, hands down!” A third user noted, “Wasn’t this page closed? Or is it just me who thought it was gone?”

While there’s no official confirmation of a revival yet, the buzz is unmistakable.

Meanwhile, Samay Raina is preparing for his international comedy comeback tour. Announced earlier this year, the tour spans multiple countries, including Germany, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. It kicked off on June 5 in Cologne and will wrap up on July 20 in Sydney. The tour marks Raina’s return to the stage after the hiatus prompted by the Latent controversy.

Raina, known for blending stand-up comedy with chess streaming and improv, remains one of India’s most followed comedians in the digital space. His ability to engage audiences across formats has made him a household name, and the resurgence of India’s Got Latent only underscores the show’s lasting popularity.

Whether or not new episodes are on the horizon, one thing is clear — fans aren’t ready to let go of India’s Got Latent just yet.
