Sidhu leaves with MLAs in the tractor, 10,000 vehicles will go to UP, police alert
Navjot said if no action is taken against the minister’s son, he will go on a hunger strike
Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu’s convoy on its way to Lakhimpurkhiri has been stopped at Saharanpur on the UP border. Members of Congress have broken the first barricade of UP police since the leaders were stopped. Police have since detained several MLAs, including Sidhu and his fellow ministers Amarinder Singh Raja Wading, Vijayendra Singla and Gurkirat Kotli.
Opposition leaders are protesting against the Lakhimpur Khiri incident in Uttar Pradesh and demanding the arrest of the home minister’s son.
Leaders are reaching Lakhimpur Khiri and mocking the government. Now Navjot Singh Sidhu has also taken to the field to protest the incident and bring justice to the farmers. Sidhu has started a rally from Mohali in Punjab to Lakhimpur Khiri.
He is accompanied by many Congress ministers, MLAs and leaders. Sidhu is riding on a tractor with several Congress leaders and MLAs. Sidhu, meanwhile, said he would go on a hunger strike if the minister’s son were not arrested and not included in the probe by tomorrow.
According to Punjab Cabinet Minister Pargat Singh, peaceful demonstrations will be launched wherever the convoy is stopped. They are hoping that the Uttar Pradesh government will allow them to reach Lakhimpur Khiri.
Earlier in the morning, Congress workers had gathered on Airport Road in Zirakpur, Mohali, to protest the March. As a result, CM Charanjit Singh Channi and Navjot Singh Sidhu have been put up on Mohali Airport Road.
Around 10,000 vehicles from all over Punjab will join
the rally. Congress leaders are claiming that around 10,000 vehicles from all over Punjab will join the rally. However, Sidhu has appealed to MLAs and leaders to join the rally in 200 vehicles.
The rally is believed to be a test of strength for Navjot Singh Sidhu, and that is why Sidhu is trying to get a huge crowd of activists and long lines of vehicles at the rally. This March, the UP police can only stop at the Haryana border near Saharanpur.
