Sonu Sood says he won’t be joining any political party.

The actor, who has helped thousands of migrant workers reach their native places in the lockdown, says “Ghar Bhejo” project was his and friend Neeti Goyal’s joint effort.

Bollywood Actor Sonu Sood, on Wednesday, revealed to a leading news publication, that he was not interested in joining politics. After a political controversy erupted around the actor’s “Ghar Bhejo Project”, Sonu Sood said that he has neither any political ambition nor has any differences with Shiv Sena and the Maha Agadi Vikas Alliance. Sonu has been active in sending migrant workers back to their native places in the midst of a nation-wide lockdown. Sonu Sood, who belongs to Punjab’s Moga district, said,” I am not going to campaign for BJP or any other party in Mumbai MC Polls or any other ones. Earlier also there have been many such offers but I am not doing it. Mostly when actors campaign for a party, it’s not like they always support them, it is just a kind of an appearance they make. I am not joining politics or any political party. I was a qualified engineer but became an actor. That’s what my focus is.”

Sonu is a fan of PM Modi:

Sonu Sood also admitted that he was like a fan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi but did not have any aspirations to join politics. The actor revealed that in the past, both Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Congress had asked him to join them or work for them in his native state of Punjab, but he had denied.

Sonu says the only motive he had to help the migrant workers reach their home was, “koi paidal nahi chalega” i.e. no one will walk on highways. Seeing the workers walk thousands of kilometers to reach home pained him and motivated him to start the “Ghar Bhejo Project” with his friend, Neeti Goyal. Sonu also said that they themselves got to know about various procedures when they started contacting the authorities, after one or two successful trips, many people joined the project. It was the smiles on the faces of migrant workers that motivated Sonu even more.
