Surat Police Seize ₹ 43 Lakh Worth of LSD and Hybrid Cannabis

In a significant drug bust, police in Surat have seized LSD and hybrid cannabis valued at ₹ 43 lakh. The contraband was ordered from Bangkok via the dark web and discovered in an apartment in the Adajan locality.

Details of the Seizure by Surat Police:

Partha Mandirwala, a resident of Krishnakunj Society in Adajan, Surat, ordered the drugs. During a raid on his apartment, the police recovered LSD blotter papers and hybrid cannabis weighing 21.820 grams. The total value of the seized drugs is estimated at ₹ 43,15,460.

The Dark Web and Drug Trafficking:

The dark web, a hidden part of the internet not indexed by traditional search engines and accessible only through specialized browsers, is known for hosting legal and illegal activities.

Mandirwala reportedly utilized the dark web to order the drugs, which were then shipped from Bangkok via courier services.

Law Enforcement Action:

Despite the successful raid, Mandirwala was not at his residence during the operation.

The Special Operations Group investigators, who received the tip-off about Mandirwala’s activities, are continuing efforts to apprehend him.

Statement from the Surat Police:

The police have registered a case against Mandirwala under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

They emphasized the ongoing issue of drug peddlers using the dark web and social media to source and distribute drugs, particularly targeting youths in affluent areas of the city.
