This August, the youngster will represent India at the Shotgun World Cup in Almaty Kazakhstan, playing for India at the Shotgun World Championships in September Lima, Peru. But, unfortunately, a big tragedy happened a few months back when he lost his dear mom due to CORONA. He is just 16, and to take this big loss is not easy. 

By making a name at the national level, he made Gujarat and his District Surendranagar Proud with his town Dasada. Great to young athletes coming from remote areas like Dasada. It shows how much talent is there in the small towns of Gujarat.

His father, Mujahid Khan, will be feeling proud as his son become the youngest one in India to be selected for such an event.  Many don’t know he is India’s youngest reunion shooter at the youngest age of 12 under the coaching of world champion Manavjit Singh Sandhu. 

Bakhtiaruddin has been a two-time state champion in the trap shooting competition and a two-time Khel Mahakumbh champion. 

He feels it is a tribute to his mother. The entire family was under trauma after her death. His father boosted the morale of the family and helped them come this far. 

He is trained under Manavjit Sandhu Sarna and getting support from his Ahmedabad Mahatma Gandhi International School.

Champion Sister Shadia Malik from Dasada Surendranagar Gujarat:  Shadia Malik, the eldest daughter of Mujahid Khan Malik of Dasada, made history by winning two gold medals in junior and senior categories at the All India Trap Shooting Competition held at Patiala Punjab some time back. Thus, Shadia Malik of Dasada became the first Indian woman to win two gold medals simultaneously in a shooting competition.
