Swiggy, the renowned food delivery platform, is set to revolutionize the dining experience for railway passengers in Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Visakhapatnam, and Vijayawada starting March 12.

This initiative aims to offer passengers the convenience of ordering food directly from their train compartments.

Swiggy Expansion Plans Across Railway Network:

In a recent statement, Swiggy announced its intention to expand its food delivery services to an additional 59 railway stations in the coming weeks. This move aligns with the company’s vision to enhance accessibility and convenience for passengers traveling via Indian Railways.

A pivotal moment in this endeavor was marked by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Swiggy Food Marketplace and the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) on Tuesday.

This MoU solidifies the partnership and outlines the framework for delivering pre-ordered meals to train passengers.

Seamless Ordering Process on the IRCTC app:

Passengers can seamlessly avail themselves of Swiggy’s pre-ordered food services by entering their Passenger Name Record (PNR) on the IRCTC app.

Following this, they can select their preferred station for food delivery, ensuring a hassle-free dining experience during their journey.

Swiggy Enhancing Passenger Experience at Indian Railway:

Sanjay Kumar Jain, Chairman and Managing Director of IRCTC, expressed optimism about the partnership, emphasizing its potential to enhance passenger satisfaction and comfort during train journeys.

Similarly, Swiggy CEO Rohit Kapoor reiterated the company’s commitment to providing passengers and restaurant operators with a seamless and satisfying experience.

Plans for Future Prospects and Expansion:

The collaboration between Swiggy and IRCTC is poised to transform the landscape of on-board dining services.

With plans to extend the service to 59 additional city stations, both entities are optimistic about the buoyant response from passengers and anticipate further expansion to newer routes.
