The death toll in the aftermath of communal violence in Haryana’s Nuh reached five on Tuesday morning. Over 50 people injured after a crowd of miscreants threw stones and set cars on fire during a religious procession on Monday evening, according to police.
According to authorities, four of these killings have been recorded from Nuh, including two house guards and two residents, one of whom has yet to be identified. A death has also been recorded in Gurugram, where a mosque was shot at and then set ablaze, according to police.
According to the police, one of the people who died in Nuh has been identified, while the identity of the other local is being determined.
Curfew declared in the area:
Haryana’s home minister Anil Vij announced a curfew in the troubled Nuh area.
According to police, a religious procession called the ‘Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra’ was stopped near Khedla Mod in Nuh by a group of men after it was flagged off from Gurugram’s Civil Lines by BJP district president Gargi Kakkar.
The administration issued prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the CrPC (Code of Criminal Procedure) in numerous districts of Haryana, including Nuh, Gurugram, and Rewari districts, as the violence expanded.
Internet access in the region has also been banned until August 2.
The effects of Nuh Violence:
Locals claim several shops and cars have been burned, damaged, or vandalised.
Around 50 vehicles were destroyed near Sohna Chowk, and other places were either burned or looted.
On Tuesday morning, Nuh reported similar scenes.
To maintain peace, battalions of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) were stationed in the affected districts.
According to locals, over 50 stores, including vendor carts, have been vandalised.
According to police, a crowd of about 45 persons fired at a mosque in Gurugram’s sector 57 late Monday night, setting it ablaze.

“A mob of about 45 people attacked the mosque late Monday night and set it on fire.” At least one person has been confirmed killed, while three others have been injured and are being treated in hospitals. “One of these is said to be critical,” said Nitish Agarwal, DCP East.
On Monday afternoon, clashes erupted in Haryana’s Nuh district when a religious procession going through the district was attacked.
At least two home guards were killed in the incident, and many were injured, including police officers.
By Monday evening, the violence had extended to other regions of Haryana, including Sohna in Gurugram.
The Haryana government also issued an order late Monday night, declaring the closure of schools in Gurugram, Faridabad, and Palwal on Tuesday.
