UP Man Hospitalized After Self-Surgery from YouTube

In a bizarre turn of events in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, a man named Raja Babu, 32, was admitted to a hospital after attempting to perform surgery on himself in an effort to alleviate severe abdominal pain. Raja Babu had been suffering from this pain for several days, but after consulting multiple doctors without finding any relief, he decided to take matters into his own hands. In his desperation, he turned to YouTube, where he watched several videos demonstrating how to perform surgery, and then purchased surgical supplies from a local medical store.

According to reports, Raja Babu bought a surgical blade, stitching materials, and anesthetic injections from Mathura, preparing to perform the procedure himself. On the morning of Wednesday, he began the surgery in his own room, hoping to fix the problem causing his discomfort. Unfortunately, when the anesthesia began to wear off, he experienced intense pain and began screaming. His family, shocked by his cries, rushed to his aid and immediately took him to a hospital.

Raja Babu’s nephew, Rahul, who accompanied him to the hospital, confirmed the incident. He explained that Raja Babu had undergone an appendectomy about 18 years ago, which might have influenced his decision to perform the surgery himself, despite the lack of medical expertise. Rahul stated that his uncle’s condition worsened after the self-surgery, and he was eventually referred to the SN Hospital in Agra for further treatment.

This unusual case highlights the dangers of relying on online resources, such as YouTube videos, for medical guidance, especially when it comes to performing surgical procedures. While the internet offers a wealth of information, it cannot replace professional medical advice and the expertise of trained healthcare providers. Fortunately, Raja Babu received medical attention, but his actions serve as a cautionary tale about the risks of self-diagnosing and self-medicating without proper supervision.
