US sends Aid to Ukraine with warning, read what it is

President Joe Biden has approved a new package of military aid for Ukraine totaling up to $300 million, which includes extra bombs for drones and a variety of other weapons. Russia continues to bombard Ukraine’s capital, and unmanned planes have targeted Moscow.

According to U.S. authorities, there is no evidence that US-made drones or munitions were used in the Moscow strikes, which the Kremlin blamed on Ukraine, but Kyiv has refused to accept.

The Biden administration says it has made it plain to Ukraine that US-produced weaponry should not be utilised for assaults inside Russian territory.

As stated by the White House National Security Council:

“We don’t tell them where to strike. We don’t tell them where not to strike. … Ultimately, President Zelenskyy and his military leaders decide what they will do from a military perspective,” White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby stated Wednesday. But he noted that the U.S. has been “very explicit with the Ukrainians privately, we’ve certainly been clear publicly, that we do not condone assaults within Russia.”

He added Zelenskyy had offered the U.S. assurances that the Ukrainians heed those concerns.

Military aid by the USA to Ukraine:

The new aid package supplies weapons to enhance Ukraine’s air defence capability to fend off Russia’s air assaults on Kyiv.

It offers munitions for Patriot missile batteries as well as High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), as well Avenger and Stinger air defence networks, mine-clearing equipment, anti-armour rounds, unguided Zuni aircraft rockets, night vision goggles, and about 30 million rounds of small arms ammunition and an undisclosed amount of other artillery rounds.

Moscow was targeted by a rare drone attack on Tuesday that lightly damaged residential structures. Russian officials claim the West, which has wanted to restrict the conflict from extending beyond Ukraine throughout the gruelling war, has not appropriately condemned the strike on Russian soil.

Asked about Moscow’s claim that the West discreetly supports assaults within Russian territory, Kirby laughed that the Russians are “not going to believe anything I have to say”.

He said the U.S. has clarified that it will not change its policy about not supporting or promoting strikes inside Russia. Still, he added, “I don’t think we’re going to take it upon ourselves as a responsibility to privately explain that to the Russians.”

Ukrainian officials cheered over Tuesday’s drone attack but avoided claiming responsibility, a statement identical to what they have stated following prior attacks on Russian territory.

U.S. authorities did not offer information on the drone bombs in the latest aid package or say which unmanned aircraft would employ them.

During the last year, the Defense Department has handed Ukraine a range of unmanned aircraft for surveillance and assaults, including at least two variants of the Switchblade. This kamikaze drone can linger in the air and explode into a target.

Including the newest aid, the U.S. has pledged more than $37.6 billion in guns and other equipment to Ukraine since Russia invaded on Feb. 24, 2022.

Officials said that this second package would be done under presidential drawdown authority, which allows the Pentagon to pull weapons from its stocks and immediately transport them to Ukraine.
