Actor-politician Vijay found himself at the centre of swirling relationship rumours after making a high-profile joint appearance with actress Trisha Krishnan at a wedding reception in Chennai. The event, hosted to celebrate producer Kalpathi S. Suresh’s son’s marriage, quickly became a talking point across social media platforms.

Bodyguard’s Deleted Post Fuels Speculation

Adding an unusual twist to the evening, Vijay’s bodyguard Aroon Suresh took to his Instagram Stories just hours before the appearance, writing “Time to rise above all the rumours” accompanied by a fire emoji. The post was later deleted, but not before it spread rapidly online. He subsequently shared a photograph of Vijay making a heart gesture, set against the song “Kokkarakko” from the 2004 film Ghilli — a movie in which Vijay and Trisha famously starred together. Users on X and Reddit interpreted the post as an indirect confirmation of a relationship between the two actors.

Divorce Filing Adds to the Storm

The timing of the appearance is particularly sensitive given that Vijay’s wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam, filed for divorce in December 2025. The petition, which became public on February 27, is scheduled for a hearing on April 20 in a Chengalpattu family court. Sangeetha has alleged mental cruelty, neglect, desertion, and an extramarital relationship with an unnamed actress in her filing.

Vijay and Trisha, celebrated as one of Kollywood’s most popular on-screen pairs, have not publicly addressed the rumours. With Vijay set to enter politics through his party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam ahead of Tamil Nadu’s upcoming Assembly elections, the speculation surrounding his personal life continues to grow louder.
