Vodafone idea reports consolidated quarterly numbers for March 24

Vodafone Idea Consolidated March 2024 net sales at Rs 10,573.70 crore, up 0.4% Y-o-Y.

Net Sales and Revenue Growth

Vodafone Idea reported consolidated net sales of ₹10,573.70 crore for the quarter ending in March 2024, marking a slight increase of 0.4% from ₹10,531.90 crore in the same quarter of the previous year.

This marginal growth reflects the company’s efforts to stabilize its revenue stream amidst a challenging market environment.

Quarterly Net Loss

The company recorded a quarterly net loss of ₹7,674.60 crore in March 2024, an increase of 19.56% from the ₹6,418.90 crore loss reported in March 2023. This significant rise in net loss indicates ongoing financial struggles despite efforts to manage operational costs and improve efficiency.

EBITDA Performance

Vodafone Idea’s Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) stood at ₹4,368.30 crore in March 2024, a 1.49% increase from ₹4,304.10 crore in March 2023. The growth in EBITDA suggests some improvement in the company’s core operational performance.

Share Performance

As of May 17, 2024, Vodafone Idea’s shares closed at ₹13.25 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). Over the last six months, the company’s shares have delivered a negative return of -6.43%.

However, on an annual basis, the shares have shown a remarkable increase of 88.75%, indicating a significant recovery or investor optimism over the longer term.

Summary

Vodafone Idea’s latest quarterly report reflects a mixed performance with slight revenue growth and improved EBITDA but a substantial increase in net loss.

The company’s share performance over the past year shows significant volatility, with strong long-term gains offset by short-term declines.

As Vodafone Idea continues to navigate its financial challenges, its future performance will likely depend on its ability to further streamline operations and stabilize its financial position.
