Washington Sundar’s 50 helps India cross 200 in the 3rd ODI vs NZ.

Indian batting struggles to cope with the swinging condition. NZ bowlers bowled well, and Indian batters batted badly. Thanks to Washington Sundar’s 50, India surpass the respectable 200 mark.  Will Washington Sundar’s 50 help India win this match and level the series? Not looking so..

Openers failed to score:

India’s batting first got a slow start. Shubham Gill got out early in the bowling of Milne. Dhawan was clueless against swing bowling. Finally, Milne ended his horror inning by taking his wicket.

Shreyas Iyer played some excellent shots, but on the other hand, Rishabh Pant gifted his wicket to Daryl Mitchell. Pant form is becoming a worry for India. Questions are now raised about his place on the team. Many ask why Sanju Samson is not getting a spot on the team. Is Pant getting favor from the selection committee, and Snaju Samson is sidelined?

The poor form of Rishabh Pant:

Rishabh Pant was batting like he was not ready for it. He looked careless and not valuing his place too. He lacks that intent which is now a big issue too. Lack of intent, and false shots, everything is currently going against him.

Shreyas Iyer, after getting set got out playing rash shot. Iyer played a rash shot that halted the progress of the Indian team. That shot that he played not needed. It stopped the flow of runs and also affected the Indian total in the end.

Suryakumar Yadav not ready for ODIs:

Suryakumar Yadav once again failed to score runs. His form in ODIs is below average, which can affect his position in the team in the coming series. His record in T20s has been excellent, but his batting in ODIs has been below average till now. He is the batsman India is looking for in all three formats, but lack of consistency in ODIs is the big question.

This series is the second one after T20 WorldCup. Due to a lack of intent from players and a poor show in India vs New Zealand and the England vs Australia series is a flop. Teams need to boost up playing level. This kind of series will affect the ODI format and cricketing level badly.
