Watch British royal guards collapse at Horse Guards Parade

Three British royal guards fell in front of Prince Williams at the Colonel’s Review at Horse Guards Parade before King Charles III’s birthday celebrations on the following Saturday, as temperatures reached 30°C (86F), the UK’s warmest day of the year.

Reuters provided video of many incidents in which troops fainted while marching in the parade. After collapsing to the ground, the British royal guards were observed being transported on stretchers.

In a tweet, Prince William acknowledged the “difficult conditions” while praising them for “doing a really good job.”

“I’m leading the Colonel’s Review of the King’s Birthday Parade today.” “The hard work and preparation that goes into an event like this is a credit to everyone involved, especially in today’s conditions,” William tweeted.

It came as the UK Health Security Agency declared a hot weather warning for much of southern England and the Midlands, according to the BBC. 

Firefighters battled a blaze that broke out south of Inverness in the Daviot area, with locals warned to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke. 

In contrast, a thunderstorm warning has been issued for the entire country of Wales during the weekend.

According to Bloomberg, this summer in the United Kingdom is predicted to be hotter than usual; however, temperatures are not projected to surpass last year’s record-breaking level.

According to Met Office climate scientists, early indications suggest that higher-than-average heat will be experienced in the UK and across southern Europe for the rest of the month and into July.
