After 11,500 reported Coronavirus cases on Sunday,
the study funded by ICMR revealed the highest point of the curve would be
witnessed in mid-November.
Till Monday 8 am, India reported fresh 11,502 Covid-19 infections, which took the country’s Coronavirus tally to 332,424. India also registered 325
deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the nation’s death toll to 9520 as per the
Union Health Ministry. India’s recovery rate rose to over 51 percent as more than 170,000
patients have recovered from the fatal disease and the total number of active
cases stands at over 150,000.
ICMR says India’s Covid-19 peak
in mind-November:
An open access study funded by
the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) revealed that the nation-wide lockdown only delayed the onset of Covid-19 virus’ peak
stage in India and that coronavirus infection’s curve will hit its highest
point somewhere in the middle of November. This gives the health system ample
amount of time to prepare the worst stage of the global pandemic.
The study also said that due to
the nation-wide lockdown, the Covid-19 curve got diluted by an estimated 34-76
days, which has been helpful in curtailing down the infections in the country
by 69-97%.
Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani says no
plan to re-impose lockdown in the state:
With daily life going gradually back to normal, business and trade related services too rising in the state, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Monday stated that the state government have no plans to re-impose lockdown and any “unfounded rumours” circling in the social media should not be believed.
Gujarat is
the fourth worst affected state and the cases in the state have been largely
constant over the past month. Gujarat was overtaken by Tamil Nadu and Delhi as
those states witnessed a huge surge in Covid-19 cases.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will also hold an all-party meet to curb the Covid-19 crisis in the country.
